Sports rights marketing agency Kentaro will distribute the
international TV rights to Bayern Munich’s friendly match against FC
Barcelona on 24th July.
The Bundesliga and La Liga giants will play at Munich’s 71,000-seater Allianz Arena as part of their pre-season friendly programmes. According to a press release, the match – called the Uli Hoeness Cup – ‘was promised to Bayern president Uli Hoeness on the occasion of his 60th birthday as a belated farewell match’.
All proceeds from the friendly, which will mark former Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola’s first match at the Allianz Arena in charge of Bayern, will be donated to charity.
Uli Hoeness said: “I’m really looking forward to this match. I’d like to thank the board of directors for this 60th birthday gift. I’m especially pleased I’ll be able to support social and community projects with the proceeds.”
“We are delighted to be once again working with Bayern Munich for such a big and prestigious match,” added Stefan Fueg, managing director of Kentaro Germany. “Bayern and Barcelona have been the most successful European clubs over the last decade. Thanks to our global network, we can guarantee that this match will receive the biggest possible international attention.”
