Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is preparing himself for bids for goalkeeper Pepe Reina this summer as Barcelona step up their desire to sign him, according to the Daily Mirror.
Rodgers has reiterated his desire to keep the Spanish international at Anfield but the La Liga champions have made him their number one summer target after resigning themselves to losing current stopper Victor Valdes who is happy to let his contract run down.
Barcelona are hoping to sell Valdes for around £10million and then spend the same amount on Reina who would relish the chance to move back to his native country.
The Liverpool ‘keeper has struggled to maintain consistency over the past two seasons and after starting his career at the Catalan club, a move back to the Nou Camp would be hard to turn down.
Liverpool are unlikely to sell until a suitable replacement is found.
