Neymar to Barca in final stages

neymar
Brazilian hotshot Neymar looks Barcelona bound after speculation tonight that the two clubs have agreed a deal worth around £30 million. There has not been any official confirmation from either , Neymar’s current club, Santos or Barcelona although negotiations have been ongoing between the two clubs.  It had been suggested that Neymar wanted to remain at Santos for one more season but these rumours suggest that a deal to make the move earlier has now been agreed.

There has been strong interest in Neymar from across Europe’s top clubs, but Santos vice-president Odilio Rodriques has claimed that a move to Barcelona is the player’s preference. Speaking to Ser Sports Rodriques said :
“Neymar has told us he wants to sign for Barcelona, There are other proposals but he has preferences for Barca. There is no official Madrid proposal for Neymar but we know that this offer will come.
We held conversations in Spain with the Barca board of directors and there are on-going talks but nothing has been decided. But the negotiations need to continue because the first bid we were offered was not enough. We know that Madrid had a bid and will be presenting it soon, but I haven’t talked to (club president) Florentino Perez.
We know that the athlete’s opinion is important. What we have to do is to find a way to unify the best offer with the player’s interest.”
Brazil boss Luiz Felipe Scolari’s  was full of praise for the Santos youngster and he also thinks that Neymar will join Barcelona. Scolari told Canal+ :
“He is an example to follow as a sportsman, I have spoken to Sandro Rosell about how he behaves on the training pitch and about his personality and he really is an example to follow.
“Barcelona are clearly leading the race for his signature. He would be a great signing for Barcelona. He would be an idol for the fans next season alongside Lionel Messi,”
It remains to be seen as to whether the clubs have agreed a deal for the 21 year old striker who is the hottest property in world football at the moment. The thought of him an Messi together must be a mouth-watering prospect for any Barcelona fans out there.
Neymar, has scored 138 goals in 229 games for Santos, and has been coveted by soccer’s biggest clubs since making Santos’s first team while still a teenager.
