As transfer window is about to open, every team would be pondering over the required move to strengthen their sides. Barcelona would be top of the heap. Having to let go all the successes due to the leaky defense, one would hope that they for sure would bid for some one best in the business.
Names like Thiago Silva, Mats Hummels, Vincent Kompany emerged but Barca doesn't seems to be in any hurry. Last year we messed up transfer prospect of Thiago Silva when PSG rushed and pulled him away. This season drawing to a close, it is impossible to take him away. Mats Hummels who successfully guided Borussia Dortmund to the finals of UCL, doesn't seem to impress Tito who believes his profile is similar to Pique and Bartra (the most stupid thing one can ever say). Kompany has a contract with Man City and nowhere likely to go. All Barca are trying is to sign Neymar up and make only one defender (Pique) defend against the flood of attacks. This strategy of all out attack seems perfect against La Liga sides but against biggies as Bayern, we would end up losing 7-0 every time. Unless and until Barcelona shed their shyness and go on an all out attack to buy the players the team needs, there is no way we would keep the tag of the best team in history.
The best possible way forward is to sign Mats Hummels who is willing enough to join Barca. Player like Marquinhos is good but no where experienced to play tough UCL fixtures. Also if a younger player than Bartra and Muniesa arrive, their confidence would linger out too. Barca! Please stop murmuring around and sign Hummels for your fans. He is going to be the best defender in the world in a couple of years and we shouldn't ruin our chances of having him. He is young, tall and powerful. Thiago Silva is good but is injury prone and getting old (30 years). Kompany is inconsistent. The best option available and the very best indeed, Hummels shouldn't miss the flight to Camp Nou this season.
As a report suggests, Tito is thinking about putting Adriano as a center half next season if he doesn't get Thiago Silva. Fantastic!!!! All hail Tito..
