The Chilean striker, who signed for Barcelona for £25million two years ago, has failed to hit it off at the Nou Camp and club chiefs have finally decided that now is the time to sell.
Barcelona's top brass met to discuss the futures of both Sanchez and David Villa and decided it was the South American they would "get rid of" because he had "failed to convince them".
The news is set to alert Roberto Mancini and Arsene Wenger, who are both interested in his signature, but they will face competition to sign him from Juventus.
Barcelona are understood to be keen to recoup what they spent on their 24-year-old flop, who has scored just five goals all season.
