Neymar transfer deemed a surety

According to Barcelona’s South American representative Andre Cury, Barcelona are desperate to add Neymar to their ranks and that the players are eagerly awaiting his arrival at the Nou Camp.

Despite both Neymar and Barcelona remaining tight-lipped on the Brazilian stars future, Cury believes that it is only a matter of time before a deal is agreed that will see Neymar line out in Catalan colours.
Neymar moved to assure Santos fans that he would honour his current deal and not depart Brazil until the 2014 World Cup was over, although Santos are said to be working on a new long term deal that they hope will entice Neymar to stay in Brazil.
Cury told Radio Globo that Barcelona are “extremely interested in Neymar” and he expects the Catalan giants to make a serious offer to Santos this summer.
“He is top of the wish list for planned signings and our players are aware of this,” Cury said. “At Barcelona we do not usually sign many players, and he is our first choice. When he decides to leave Santos, we will be ready.
“But, if possible, we will start negotiations this summer. Messi, Xavi and Iniesta are already awaiting him with open arms.”
Cury said that Neymar’s arrival at the Nou Camp would alleviate some of the pressure on Lionel Messi’s shoulders in terms of goal-scoring and producing match winning performances.
“In two or three years Messi will be able to pass on the Barcelona baton to Neymar, just like Ronaldinho passed it to him, even if this happened in a way that was not altogether pleasing to us – Ronnie left the club and we would have liked him to have stayed.”
It remains to be seen whether Neymar will stay in Brazil or sign for Barcelona. It seems very unlikely that Chelsea will land Neymar now, but they are still in the running but are massive outsiders.
